I understand your frustration . I do want to point out, for example the same outrage about smog rules in California in the 70’s and look at pictures of LA’s skyline smog and compare to the same today… vast improvement! There needs to be a middle ground.

Not to mention the “weed burners” with lower skirt fairing designed to “deliberately” trap fumes under the drivers sleeper cab when parked for the night. Only because the perpendicular hole cut to the exhaust outlet is like a quarter inch past the sleeper wall pointing down for the fumes to cloud up beneath the cab fairings. Seems it would have been healthier to spend the $300 to have vertical stacks to prevent that. However the Earth worshiping eco freak nut jobs and their political servants are terrified about seeing a puff of smoke so to appease their religion. This is why they prefer the weed burners to corral the smoke under the drivers sleeping area, especially noticed when DEF odors come inside cab during federally mandated regen times when parked.

It's just trucking it's everything, it's all about money and liability. Lawyers suing for insane sums. So they add more technology. In the end they want to replace the driver that's the second biggest cost of business behind fuel paying the driver
